Responsive breakpoints validated

From unavailable
to production-ready.

The website initially disappeared because WordPress could not correctly connect to and identify its production database tables. After access was restored, several presentation defects remained: inconsistent maintenance mode, a wrapped footer, broken form styling and a calendar component generating thousands of pixels of black space below the footer.

GNEXT repaired the configuration, restored the current website, corrected shared layouts, reinstated missing plugin assets, cleared Kinsta caches and completed a 30-page rendered audit. The production site is now live, navigable and free of the footer-space defect.

!

Primary service interruption

WordPress configuration and database mapping failure

The production WordPress installation was unable to load the correct database state because its connection details and table-prefix mapping were inconsistent. This made the site appear missing or unavailable. A secondary maintenance-state inconsistency then allowed only selected routes to load.

Resolution

Correct configuration → correct tables → production domain → caches refreshed

01

Production website recovery

Recovered the live WordPress installation through MyKinsta and restored public access without rolling the website back to an obsolete design state.

  • Production site restored
  • Existing content retained
  • No legacy rebuild required
02

WordPress configuration repair

Corrected the database connection configuration and WordPress table prefix in wp-config.php, then reconciled the production domain and maintenance state.

  • Database connectivity restored
  • Correct table set loaded
  • Domain routing normalised
03

Maintenance-state recovery

Removed the inconsistent maintenance behaviour that allowed the homepage to load while internal pages remained unavailable.

  • Homepage and internal routes live
  • No maintenance overlay
  • Normal public navigation
04

Footer layout correction

Repaired the shared Elementor footer template so its five content columns render in one compact, balanced row on desktop instead of wrapping or creating unnecessary vertical space.

  • Five-column desktop layout
  • Responsive wrapping retained
  • Shared template fixed globally
05

Black space beneath footer removed

Identified an unstyled Flatpickr booking calendar being rendered in the document flow after the footer. Restored the missing calendar stylesheet so the widget remains hidden until opened.

  • 13 affected pages repaired
  • 3,035 px gap eliminated
  • 30 sitemap URLs verified
06

Enquiry form styling restored

Restored the missing WPForms Modern, Choices and Flatpickr assets. This corrected field alignment, multi-select controls, text areas, button styling and date-picker presentation.

  • Desktop checked
  • Tablet checked
  • Mobile checked
07

Cache refresh and production QA

Cleared Kinsta’s full cache stack and re-tested the rendered production site after deployment to ensure visitors receive the corrected assets.

  • Kinsta caches purged
  • Production HTML verified
  • Date picker tested

One missing asset chain.
Two visible problems.

WPForms loaded its JavaScript but not the corresponding presentation assets. This broke both the enquiry form and the booking calendar’s hidden-popup behaviour.

Secure foundations,
with hardening recommended.

A passive, non-destructive assessment confirmed that core sensitive files were protected. Additional response headers and WordPress enumeration controls remain recommended follow-up work.

Sensitive server files

Blocked

wp-config.php, .env, .git and debug endpoints were not publicly readable.

XML-RPC

Blocked

The XML-RPC endpoint returned HTTP 403.

Directory browsing

Blocked

Directory indexes were not exposed.

HTTPS certificate

Valid

TLS was active and valid during the assessment.

Security headers

Follow-up

HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy and Permissions-Policy should be added.

WordPress enumeration

Follow-up

REST user discovery and author-ID enumeration should be restricted.

Priority 1

Repair outbound form delivery

The newsletter form returned a server-side submission error during testing. Configure authenticated SMTP, verify recipient routing and complete a real delivery test.

Priority 2

Deploy security hardening

Add the recommended browser security headers, restrict REST user enumeration and remove unnecessary WordPress version fingerprints after compatibility testing.

Priority 3

Mobile header refinement

Review the mobile homepage header where duplicate logo presentation and isolated text clipping were observed during the broader responsive assessment.

Important: Form layout and date-picker behaviour were verified. A real enquiry was not submitted because the form includes CAPTCHA and would create a live client communication.

Preventive recommendation

Protect the website with a structured AMC.

This incident was recoverable, but future failures can be detected and contained much earlier through an Annual Maintenance Contract. GNEXT’s AMC service keeps the website under continuous technical scrutiny with WordPress and plugin updates, uptime monitoring, security checks, backups, form-delivery testing, performance reviews and scheduled maintenance reporting.

  • Proactive uptime and error monitoring
  • Managed WordPress, theme and plugin updates
  • Backup verification and recovery readiness
  • Security, form and performance health checks

Final delivery status

The website is live, stable and visually corrected.

Production recovery and the agreed interface remediation are complete. The remaining items above are separate hardening and mail-delivery improvements and do not prevent visitors from browsing the website.
